Trav and Say........What we are up to now.......: May 2008

trip date: May 5th- May 9th

So, I am back from my team bonding trip, and I am still sore.So we went to this little town called Tofino, BC up in Canada. It was amazing. This was the closest to seeing the world with out people. We camped on beaches that people have never been to, Hiked a peak that only 2% of the people that visit Tofino actually accomplish. And we hung out with amazing sea animals for 4 days.

So this was the hike that I almost died on. We started at the bottom and climbed up 3500 feet in 4 hours. Not only was this a long hike, but It was straight up hill. Most hikes.. you walk a little bit and climb a little bit. There was absolutely NO walking on this trail. It was straight up this mountain. The bottom half was warm and muddy....the top was snow (which we were standing on for these photos). I still can't believe that I did it. My knees are still killing me. Even the athletes that went with us said that it was one of the most difficult hikes they have done. ( i think they were being nice)

The guy on the left is the most famous climber. He is an amazing athlete, and made killer margaritas for the team. It was funny to watch everyone get shit canned. (Usually its me)

A morning paddle on the water to our hike...

Just another morning on the water... This was what our day's were. Exploring inlets, paddling until our arms fall off. It was pretty cool to see all of the wild life. I saw at least 20 bald eagles, swam with dolphins, harbor seals, jelly fish, starfish as big as my body. The only complaint that I had was the weather. It didn't really get above 48 degrees during the day. The last day.... everyone was making fun of me. I had 10 different layers on! Thank god I work for the North Face and get free crap.
